Cross Connections International, a powerhouse in global design academia and an emerging academic design festival, returns in 2024 with its fourth edition. Organized by UTRGV, IMAS, and BMFA, this year's event presents a rich variety of activities, including a design competition, juried exhibition, and design thinking webinars. Curated by these institutions, the Cross Connections 2024 International Exhibition and Competition of Visual Communication Design and Emerging Media Design showcase the talents of students and faculty from twenty international institutions. Featuring 100 print-based artworks and 84 screen-based multimedia pieces, the theme, "Unleash your creativity: explore your design beyond borders, cultures, concepts, media, and disciplines," underscores the aim to transcend boundaries and showcase contemporary design trends dynamically. Selected artworks will embark on a global tour across higher education institutions throughout 2024, as I spearheaded the international promotion effort by designing the exhibition banner, poster, and additional promotional materials.
